Desert Point : A hardcore surfing spot for professionals.

About Desert Point

Desert Point, also known as Bangko-Bangko, is one of the best surfing spots in the world. This place is only for professional surfers. If you are not an experienced surfer, please do not try to surf here. Also, even though it’s called “Dessert,” it doesn’t look like a desert. Instead of a desert, there’s a vast expanse of green grassland here, which makes the naming somewhat unique.

Location & How To Get There

Dessert Point is in West Lombok, in the Sekotong sub-district, West Lombok Regency. It’s not easy to get here. You need a 4WD vehicle or a trail bike because the roads aren’t very good yet. Mataram city is about 75 km away, and the trip takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

Operational Hours & Admission Fee

You can visit this place at any time. You don’t need a ticket, but you will need to bring money for parking or to rent surfing equipment.
